Abstract

In a biblical scene from the book of Judges, Jephthah's daughter comes out to greet her triumphant warrior father, only to realize that he has promised to sacrifice to God, whatever comes out of his house to meet him when he returns. This depiction is unique in that very little is shown of the triangle itself. On the front left part of the cabinet, underneath the tambourine player, one must look closely to see the top of the triangle only, held in the left hand.
