Abstract

In a biblical scene from the book of Judges, Jephthah's daughter comes out to greet her triumphant father, only to realize that he has promised to sacrifice to God, the first person that he sees. The large triangle is played a left-handed fashion making a fist to hold the instrument. The method of holding the triangle beater is peculiar and somewhat like "traditional grip" for a snare drummer.
