Abstract
An example of early writing for the triangle. The triangle does not appear to be listed on the Angerer title page.
Originally thought to be the work of Joseph Haydn, recent investigations suggest Leopold Mozart, Michael Haydn (Joseph Haydn's younger brother), or Edmund Angerer (1740–1794) as possible composers of the Toy Symphony. If Angerer's 1765 manuscript, "Berchtolds-Gaden Musick," is accepted as the original, then the Toy Symphony was originally crafted in C major, contrary to the earlier assumption of G major.
