Abstract

Broad and rounded corners. The two ends are curved outwardly, creating two sizable rings that serve as suspension points for the instrument. One of a pair of triangles (see Inventory No. 1988/205). These are sole survivors from a series that originally consisted of five elements in the Grand-Ducal Inventory of 1794, which increased to eight by 1796. These two triangles were regularly employed as essential tools in orchestral percussion for operatic performances, often forming part of the renowned "Turkish band."
