Abstract

Among the 103 marquetry designs showcasing musical instruments suspended from ribbons within circular medallions. These designs were specifically crafted for the chair set by Van Doren, intended for the main hall of the Palace of the Prince of Orange in Brussels in 1828. The triangle is highly ornate, the design of which is possibly connected to the spurious, supposed first triangle found in Boethius' "De Musica", as well as the triangle found in "Essai sur la musique ancienne et moderne, tome 1" by Jean-Benjamin de La Borde.
