Abstract

In a biblical scene from the book of 1 Samuel, the triangle is played by a woman on the occasion of David’s triumphant return. A woman plays the triangle among other women playing musical instruments. Prominently placed in the middle of the painting, both the triangle and the beater are noticeably large relative to the arm and torso of the woman playing it.
