Abstract
In a biblical scene from the book of 1 Samuel, the triangle is played by a woman on the occasion of David’s triumphant return. The large size of the triangle and the beater make this image unique. The shape of the beater is unique as well. The triangle is trapezoidal and is held directly with the hand, without a method of suspension. The image is in reverse of Lucas van Leyden's original.
